Nau mai haere mai, all are welcome to attend Ōtari Raranga wānanga evening sessions in Te Aro.

Suited to weavers of all levels.

Doors open from 5:15pm.

These classes run approximately weekly.

If you would like us to harvest for you, purchase the add-on – “Please harvest for me” for an additional fee.

Depending on what you are making, will need to harvest 20+ rau for yourself and are expected to start building your own tool kit.

With regular attendance, you will:
– Learn tikanga (protocols) and karakia for hauhake (harvesting) and preparing harakeke
– Build your mātauranga (knowledge)
– Use kupu Māori appropriate to raranga practice
– Develop your pūkenga (practical skills)
– Build hononga (connections) within our raranga rōpū (group)
– Have the skills to practice at home.

What’s included in your ticket?
– Three-hour weaving class with experienced kaiako
– Light refreshments are provided, and we encourage you to bring kai to share
