Mānawatia a Matariki
Nau mai haere mai, all are welcome to attend a special Matariki raranga (weaving) celebratory session for you to attend as a ropū/whānau.
Starting with tikanga and then making a LARGE kete Mārama (Lantern) or kete kai to celebrate Matariki.
Some experience is preferred, and all harakeke and materials are provided.
Please arrive on time for karakia (blessing).
Light refreshments will be provided and you are welcome to bring shared kai.
Led by Linda Lee (Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga, Ngāti Huia, Ngāti Kurī, Ngāi Tākoto, Te Rarawa, Te Aupōri, Ngāpuhi) and Frank Topia NgāPuhi, Ngāti Pōrou, Ngāti Haua).
These kete use a LOT of harakeke resource so please let us know if you can no longer make it so we don’t harvest more than we need and also ensure that others don’t miss out.
